The Energy Bus

IMG_187410 rules to Fuel Your Life, Work and Team with Positive.

-The Energy Bus-  By Jon Gordon   — For More information please visit  “The Energy Bus”

Let’s face it, we’ve all felt like George a time or two in our lives.  George is a bitter, overworked, under appreciated middle aged man telling his personal story about Joy, a public transportation “bus driver” who saves his marriage, family, career and life. “The Energy Bus” takes you on the ride of your life. It is inspiring, uplifting  trip that shares ten secrets to happiness.  We all face challenges, obstacles and negativity in our schools.  Author Jon Gordon (George) and Joy take will take you through a journey of 10 life changing rules, that will change your life!  Nobody goes through life unchallenged. However, the answer to these tests lays in POSITIVE ENERGY.

  1. You’re the driver of your bus.
  2. Desire, vision, and focus move your bus in the right direction.
  3. Fule your ride with positive energy
  4. Invite people on your bus and share your vision for the road ahead.
  5. Don’t waste your energy on those who don’t get on your bus.
  6. Post a sing that says NO ENERGY VAMPIRES ALLOWED on your bus.
  7. Enthusiasm attracts more passengers and energizes them during the ride.
  8. Love your passengers
  9. Drive with a purpose.
  10. Have fun and enjoy the ride.

The rules are great!  As I read, I found them to be rather simple in concept.  Maybe that’s why Jon’s powerful message for schools, businesses, organizations and teams has been so effective.  As I finished the book, I read Jon’s “Energy Bus Action Plan.”  This is where magic will happen at Bluffdale Elementary this summer.

  • Step # 1 Create your Vision
  • Step # 2 Fuel your Vision with Purpose
  • Step # 3 Write Down Your Vision/Purpose Statement
  • Step # 4 Focus on Your Vision
  • Step # 5 Zoom Focus
  • Step # 6 Get on the Bus
  • Step # 7 Fuel the ride with Positive Energy and Enthusiasm
  • Step # 8 Post a sign that says “No Energy Vampires Allowed”
  • Step # 9 Navigate Adversity and Potholes
  • Step # 10 Love your Passengers
  • Step # 11 Have fun and Enjoy the Ride

What a wonder resource.  Thanks you Jon Gordon for the motivation to be a happier husband, father and school leader. Can’t wait to implement the energy bus into my school.
